ULTIMATE UPGRADE OFFER

FOR OWNERS OF

CASA NOVA MUSIC AND CINEMA CONTROLLERS

Dear Casa Nova owner,

What would the ultimate upgrade be for your Casa Nova?

Over the last 18 months, in anticipation of a redesign of Casa Nova, we've been asking a sampling of long-time Casa Nova owners what they want in an upgrade. From this we have seen a unified wish list: improved sound, more flexibility, more channels, and the latest processes from Dolby, Circle and DTS. What Casa Nova owners want is for the unit to take on the powers of the Casablanca III.

We have done significant research into this. We have found that we could turn a Casa Nova into the upgrade asked for, but only if we add a second chassis, which would make it even costlier than a Casablanca, as well as harder to set up and use.

In order to give you the features you really want, in an upgrade that makes economic sense, we decided to give you an easy path to owning the component you really want: A Casablanca III!

We are offering the ultimate upgrade for original owners of Casa Novas! You can go straight to the details of this offer, or read the inside story on the Casa Nova

When we began designing the Casa Nova in 1997, I envisioned it as a surround processor for the music lover. I wanted it to be a component that, over time, as the technologies matured, and as our knowledge increased, could incrementally improve in sound quality.

The industry and the wants of most of our customers have moved more toward adding channels, in pursuit of a completely immersive sonic environment. Current and prospective Casa Nova owners we spoke to wanted the capacity for at least 7.1 channels. So although most new systems installed are 5.1 -- because of space limitations and allocation of budgets toward smaller numbers of highest quality channels -- people yearn for components that won't limit them when they are ready to expand into a 7.1 or even an 8.4 channel system.

We tried very hard to design an update for Casa Nova that would allow for these extra channels and maintain or improve the sound. The size of the power supply that the chassis would allow, as well as the sheer number of jacks necessary on the back panel, made this impossible. The only way we could give Casa Nova the required features would be to add a second complete chassis for the extra channels. We considered this possibility for a short time, but once we worked up the cost of this potential product, as well as the complexity of set up, we realized that it would end up being an update that few existing owners would want and that no new customers would buy. For these reasons, we are not going to be offering any significant updates or upgrades to Casa Nova.

We are making a special limited-time offering, to allow those who purchased their Casa Nova new from our dealers the opportunity to upgrade to a Casablanca III at an advantageous price.

You are probably aware that the Casablanca has been the standard of our industry since its release many years ago. Widescreen Review purchased a Casablanca III which they use in their permanent reference system. Absolute Sound/Perfect Vision gave the latest iteration of Casablanca an award a few months ago, as did England's HiFi News, making Casablanca III their "Processor of the Year."

Casablanca has always been our premier processor; the best sound we know how to build into a surround processor, and the highest degree of flexibility of any processor on the market. The Casablanca III, with its latest improvements is probably the most up to date processor available today. This modular unit can have up to 12 channels, configured in many different ways, and can be built at different quality levels, starting several steps up from what other processors offer.

Your Casa Nova, an eight year old design, is better sounding than nearly all of the newer processors available today. This because it was designed with Theta's knowledge of sound, designed for music lovers. The Casablanca III is considerably better.

Take a look at the choices available to you. You may find that you're perfectly happy with your Casa Nova as it is. However, if you've ever had thoughts of getting something more comprehensive, more up to date, or even better sounding, now is definitely the time to visit your Theta dealer!

Sincerely,

Neil Sinclair
