Q: Where can I find
warranty information on the Theta Digital website?
A: Go to
http://www.thetadigital.com/faq-warranty.htm.
Q: Why do you require that
service and repair be arranged through an authorized Theta
Digital dealer or distributor?
A: Many issues can be resolved by the dealer
or distributor. In the event that a product requires factory
service, the dealers and distributors will interact with the
factory to make all the necessary arrangements such as shipping,
scheduling, repair estimates, and/or upgrade/update quotes for you.
Q: Will Theta Digital
change my component’s existing power supply for use
with a different voltage, such as 110, 220 or 240 volts?
A: If you are the original owner of the Theta
component and you have owned the unit in the United States
for at least six months we can accommodate you. You will need
to contact an authorized Theta Digital dealer or distributor
for details and pricing, and they will make arrangements for
the unit to be serviced. To find an authorized Theta Digital
dealer in the USA or Canada, go to http://www.thetadigital.com/search.cfm,
enter your ZIP code or postal code and click on the Search
button.
The only exception to this rule is that those moving to the
U.S. may have their overseas purchased Theta components modified
for U.S use regardless of time of ownership.
We will not change voltages for products that are being exported
from the U.S. to another country, even if the product is used
and/or no longer manufactured. To have operating voltage changes
performed outside of the U.S., the Theta distributor for the
country where the products will be used should be contacted
to perform the operation. As our distributors are independently
operated companies, they will each have their own rates and
fees to perform this task if they choose to do so at all.
All requests for operating voltage changes other than to 120VAC
will be referred directly to the appropriate importer.
Q: Does Theta Digital
recommend the use of aftermarket power cables and / or power
conditioners?
A: The power cable must be UL approved and
be capable of carrying 10 amps of current for all products
except amplifiers, which require 15 amps. Power conditioners
must meet adequate current demands and maintain proper grounding
for best performance and safe operation. It is recommended
to audition a power conditioner in your system. Consult your
nearest authorized Theta Digital dealer who will be able to
assist you with your specific needs.
Q: Does Theta Digital
recommend any particular brand of interconnects and / or speaker
cables for use with its products?
A: No. We have seen and heard many good sounding
systems with a variety of cabling brands. We do recommend
that you check out high quality cables, however. Most dealers
will be glad to arrange for your audition, so you can see
and hear for yourself. Don’t forget that your authorized
Theta Digital dealer or distributor is the best source for
recommendations regarding your system. He knows your system and your needs.
Q: Where can I find
the latest software upgrade files for Theta Digital components
on Theta’s website?
A: Go to http://www.thetadigital.com/downloads-tech.html.
Please read all comments, instructions and warnings, as failure
to heed them can result in costly and time-consuming errors.
Q: Where can I find
owner’s manuals on the Theta Digital website?
A: All available manuals can be found in
PDF format at: http://www.thetadigital.com/manuals.htm.
Q: Where can I find RS-232
and IR protocol for Theta Digital products?
A: All available protocols can be found at:
http://www.thetadigital.com/manuals.htm.
Q: Where can I find Theta
Digital product specifications?
A: Specifications for our products can be
found at the back of their respective owner’s manuals.
Specifications are subject to change without notice. All available
manuals can be found in PDF format at: http://www.thetadigital.com/manuals.htm.
Q: Why does Theta
Digital take so long to introduce new products?
A: We believe in taking the necessary time
to develop superb products that will provide many satisfying
years of use. While we are rarely “first to market”
with a new technology, we often establish the benchmark of
performance in a category once that product is available.
Most other companies, large and small, use off the shelf pre-packaged solutions for the complex processes modern audio reproduction requires. We donŐt take this route. All Theta components contain purpose designed, proprietary technologies necessary for the highest level of sound quality.
Q: How long does it
take to “burn in” Theta Digital products?
A: In addition to the 100 hours of burn it
time each Theta component receives at the factory before final
testing, additional burn in time for optimum performance varies
by component type.
Surround controllers and DAC cards need 100 hours, while 200
hours is needed for tranports and 300 hours is needed for
amplifiers. In each case, it is recommended to run a signal
through the unit, rather than simply turning the unit’s
power switch to the “On” position. Once burn in
time is complete, these products will perform at their optimum
levels of quality.
Shipping components can cause them to need renewed burn-in
time, to regain their optimum qualities.
Q: Do any Theta Digital
products support Laser Linque?
A: Laser Linque is no longer available for
any Theta Digital products. As we refined our techniques for
jitter control from standard SP/DIF and AES digital connections,
these finally eclipsed the performance of Laser Linque.
Q: What if I want to
upgrade or update my Theta component?
A: Please contact your Theta dealer. To find
an authorized Theta Digital dealer in the USA or Canada, go
to http://www.thetadigital.com/search.cfm,
enter your ZIP code or postal code and click on the Search
button.
If you live outside of North America, please use the form
on the Contact page (http://thetadigital.com/contact.aspx
) to get contact information for dealers and distribuitors.
Q: How do I go
about getting my Theta Digital unit upgraded or serviced if
I do not live in the USA or Canada?
A: If you are located outside of the USA
or Canada, then it is best to work with the nearest authorized
Theta Digital dealer in your country. If you do not have a
dealer nearby, we can put you in touch with your country’s
representative; please send your email request to info@thetadigital.com.
Each Theta Digital representative has been trained to perform
both upgrades and service. Not all service can be done locally,
but we will work to avoid shipping your unit back to the factory.
