A: No, you will need to contact an authorized Theta Digital dealer or international representative. This will insure accurate troubleshooting and quality assurance of the repair. It will also maintain the warranty, if still in effect.

Q: Where can I find warranty information on the Theta Digital website?
A: Warranty information is shown in the back of the owner's manual for each product. You may download the available owner's manuals here.

Q: Why do you require that service and repair be arranged through an authorized Theta Digital dealer or international representative?
A: Many issues can be resolved by the dealer or international representative. In the event that a product requires factory service, the dealer or international representative can interact with the factory to make all the necessary arrangements such as shipping, scheduling, repair estimates, and / or upgrade quotes for you.

Q: Will Theta Digital change my component's existing power supply for use with a different voltage, such as 110, 220 or 240 volts?
A: Yes, but only for original owners who have registered their products with the factory and have owned their products for at least six months, and only through an authorized Theta Digital dealer or international representative.

Q: Does Theta Digital recommend the use of aftermarket power cables and / or power conditioners?
A: The power cable must be UL approved and be capable of carrying 10 amps of current for all products except amplifiers, which require 15 amps. Many line conditioners limit current, causing Theta Digital products not to work properly. We recommend to plug our products directly into the AC wall outlet, bypassing any current limiting or AC signal regenerating line conditioners. Consult your nearest authorized Theta Digital dealer or international representative who will be able to assist you with your specific needs.

A: No. We have seen and heard many good sounding systems with a variety of cabling brands. We do recommend that you check out high quality cables, however. Some dealers or international representatives may be able to arrange for an in-home audition, so you can see and hear for yourself. Don't forget that your authorized Theta Digital dealer or international representative is the best source for recommendations.

A: All available protocols can be found here.

Q: Where can I find Theta Digital product specifications?
A: Specifications for our products can be found at the back of their respective owner's manuals. All available manuals can be found as PDF files here.

Q: Why does Theta Digital take so long to introduce new products?
A: Theta Digital believes firmly in taking the necessary time to develop worthy products that will provide many satisfying years of use. While we are never "first to market" with a product, we often establish the benchmark of performance in a category once that product is available.

Q: How long does it take to "burn in" Theta Digital products?
A: In addition to the 100 hours of burn it time each component receives at the factory, additional burn in time of Theta Digital products varies. In each case, it is recommended to run a signal through the unit, rather than simply turning the unit's power switch to the "On" position. Surround controllers and DAC cards need 100 hours, while 200 hours is needed for tranports and 300 hours is needed for amplifiers. Once burn it time is complete, these products will perform at their optimum levels of quality.

Q: Do any Theta Digital products support Laser Linque or MegaLinque?
A: Laser Linque and Megalinque are no longer available for any Theta Digital products.

Q: What if I want to upgrade my Theta Digital component or it needs to be serviced?
A: Please contact your nearest authorized Theta Digital dealer or international representative, as it is part of their responsibility to perform service on Theta Digital components, including upgrades, diagnosis and resolution of repairs, and assistance in obtaining the best possible configuration of components for your taste and the needs of your particular system.

Click Here and sign up to receive information when the Casablanca III HD with HDMI becomes available in early 2010.

Casablanca III

Q: Is the Casablanca III compatible with HDMI?
A1: The Theta Digital's product development team are hard at work on several projects, including an HDMI 1.3 audio and video solution exclusively for the Casablanca III, for use with the Premium, the Superior II and the Xtreme D-2 DAC cards. (The discontinued Standard and Superior I DAC cards are not compatible with HDMI audio.) The final pricing has not been determined, but the product development team is estimating it will be around $4,000 USD to $5,000.00 USD to install the HDMI 1.3 audio and video solution in a Casablanca III. This option will likely become available Q1 of 2010. Once installed, it will allow the Casablanca III to access and process the latest HD audio codecs from Dolby Labs and DTS. The video portion will be pass-through, to allow folks to use the HDMI video processor / scaler / transcoder / upconverter of their choice.

A2: The team is also working on an all-balanced higher resolution Digital Output card for the Casablanca III that will likely be released once the HDMI option is available. Final pricing of that new Digital Output card has not even been estimated yet, since it's still in the midst of development.
