Theta Digital Introduces Versatile Xtreme DAC Card for Casablanca II Controller

Next Generation DAC Card Allows Flagship Controller to Handle 12 Channels of 24-bit/384khz Digital Audio

CEDIA EXPO, Indianapolis, Sept. 7, 2001--Theta Digital, long acclaimed as an innovative force in digital audio design, introduces the Xtreme DAC Card for its extraordinary Casablanca II Cinema and Music Controller at CEDIA EXPO 2001: The Custom Home Electronic Design and Installation Show, beginning today in Indianapolis.

The new Xtreme DAC board delivers the highest definition of any of the available DAC cards for the Casablanca II, and the Open Architecture design of the Casablanca II processor facilitates field-upgrades via dealer-installable circuit cards. Each Xtreme DAC card provides four channels of the highest quality balanced audio, and is capable of processing 24-bit/96kHz, 192kHz, and 384 kHz sources. Numerous refinements to the earlier Superior card contribute to the overall sonic excellence of the Xtreme card.

This new DAC board allows installers to configure the Casablanca II for up to 12 channels when using all of its three DAC card slots. It is possible to mix and match the Xtreme, Superior and Standard DAC cards. Casablanca II's flexible infrastructure allows installers to configure and upgrade the Casablanca II to meet their clients' personal needs with the exact number of channels and level of quality desired.

When configured for 12 channels, the outputs include front left, center, and right; surround left and right; side left and right; front left and right subwoofer; surround left and right sub; and rear center or front center sub. Systems with two subwoofers can be configured as left/right or front/back.

The Casablanca II is Theta's acclaimed and completely customizable system controller. It's pioneering open architecture design and numerous features eliminate the need to choose between audiophile music reproduction and video-based surround sound.

The Xtreme card can be seen with Theta's other outstanding products in Booth 1028, Indianapolis Convention Center, during CEDIA EXPO.
