Integration and Convenience

The Casablanca II's standard RS-232 serial port offers access for Crestron, Panja (AMX) and other system-control devices, as well as the ability to update software on the re-programmable flash memory. It also can be connected to a pc RUNNING Theta's optional Windows software (available later this year) which provides complete set-up and control capabilities. Of course, it also comes with an IR remote and very legible blue Vacuum Fluorescent front-panel display.

If you wish, the Casablanca II can be housed within an anodized aluminum cover that resists vibration, dissipates heat and aesthetically matches the brushed-aluminum front panel. Yours can also rack-mount the unit. Four 12-volt trigger jacks are available for controlling power amplifiers, and such auxiliary devices as motorized screens and drapes, and lighting systems.

Easy to Use

Casablanca II can be operated by remote control or by buttons on its faceplate. Communication is done via its LCD display, or by a video display on a TV monitor. The RS 232 interface allows control via a Systems Integration device. Both the front panel display and the on-screen video offer information, choices of various functions and selections of surround modes.

Despite Casablanca II's technological sophistication, we believe in making it as easy as possible for you to use. We think you'll enjoy the intuitive way the Casablanca II works. (Casablanca II's uncluttered controls activate sub-menus when called upon.)

The "user interface" is based on simple logic. For example, when a function button is pressed, you can make changes within its menu(s), and press the same function button again, to store the changes and exit that menu. (The same button that got you in gets you back out.)

Fine Tune your Whole System

Casablanca II can help tailor the sound of your speakers to suit your room!

Every room has different effects on sound; even furniture in the room changes the sound. Your media room is unique. Most speakers are set up for theoretically ideal listening conditions. With Casablanca II's comprehensive crossover options, it's like getting custom-made speakers. Better, actually, because you can adjust, alter, and "tune in" the sound you want.

Now Audiophiles Can Enjoy Movies Too

Casablanca II provides deep fine tuning of the sound, through its wealth of crossover choices. Since you can save different settings for different sources, you can even set different characteristics for movies and music listening.

Each preset selection button (there are 12) can be assigned any name, each with its own speaker configuration and other specific settings, which lets you optimize each parameter for each source. Among the over 140 speaker-set-up parameters are three types of crossovers - Phase-Perfect, Butterworth, and Linkwitz-Riley - up to 4 slope choices and 7 crossover frequencies for each.

Casablanca II is the most radically innovative leap Theta has made since its inception, when we began to revolutionize CD playback by improving on digital decoding methods.

Casablanca II relieves music lovers of the painful dilemma of having to choose between high quality, faithful music reproduction equipment, and the highly compromised components that provide for video's specialized sonic decoding, processing, and switching.

Truly a no-compromise high fidelity audio component, Casablanca II can act as a preamplifier / digital to analog converter. It can also act as a high fidelity video switcher, and offers options for various types of surround sound decoding. You choose.

Standard / Optional and Specifications

Because there are so many ways of configuring your Casablanca II, and as new options are being added all the time, we ask you to make sure you get the most current information on options and specifications, from your dealer.

Flexible Configuration

Casablanca II purchasers can choose from two quality levels of DACs for digital to analog conversion, both of which processes 24bit/96K. The Superior DACs are three-channel (balanced and single-ended); the Standard quality offers yet another configuration choice (6 channel Single Ended or 3 channel Balanced. These boards can be combined to provide up to twelve channels of audio.

You can also choose six- or 12-channel digital-output boards, which are capable of sending 24/96 data to external DACs, such as Theta's Generation V. A separate tape out DAC lets you record (or send to a second zone) one digital source while listening to a different one.

Theta's foundation: Digital Done Right

Theta's focus was originally on extracting listenable, enjoyable music from digitally encoded audio. Building on the knowledge of digital signal conversion we have gained over the past 12 years, we ventured into the home theater realm. Theta's digital algorithms make image direction in movies extremely realistic.

Putting together perfectionist audio with perfectionist video, we offer a surround sound processor that is great for video, without making the usual disastrous compromises that leave music listeners disappointed.
